Welcome To

Longships Counselling

Imagine you’re travelling south and west, and have gone as far as you can go: that’s when you’ll see the Longships, a small group of rocky islands, complete with lighthouse, off Land’s End. It’s the end and the beginning of things.

Perhaps you feel you’re in a similar place in your own life. You might be feeling anxious and worried, or experiencing something like paralysis; you might need help working through long-standing issues. You may feel you’ve run out of road, and be wondering if counselling is your best option.

I’ll work with a combination of humanistic, psychoanalytic, existential and artistic therapeutic approaches to support you and help you to turn things around.

Use my contact form to ask questions, check availability or book sessions.

ABOUT ME

Colin Brown

I am an Integrative Counsellor working in Bristol (and beyond via Zoom and Telephone).

I hold an NCS accredited Foundation Degree in Counselling from Plymouth University, as well as a Diploma in Adult Education and a Degree in Drama and English from the universities of Nottingham and Lancaster respectively. I provide a confidential service within the ethical framework set out by the NCS. I hold an enhanced DBS certificate.

I’ve worked closely with individuals and groups, helping to meet a wide variety of personal and social needs in the public and charity sectors, as well as within the community. This includes setting up a creche and children’s holiday playschemes, establishing an advice and social centre for unwaged people, and working with residents of a local hostel on issues including homelessness, abuse, difficulties with relationships, and drug and alcohol problems.
