About Me

I am a National Counselling Society / MNSC Accredited Integrative Counsellor. I’m based in Bristol and offer face-to-face, walk and talk, Zoom and Telephone counselling.

I hold an NCS accredited Foundation Degree in Counselling from Plymouth University, as well as a Diploma in Adult Education and a Degree in Drama and English from the universities of Nottingham and Lancaster respectively. I provide a confidential service within the ethical framework set out by the NCS. I hold an enhanced DBS certificate.

I’ve worked closely with individuals and groups, helping to meet a wide variety of personal and social needs in the public and charity sectors, as well as within the community. This includes setting up a creche and children’s holiday playschemes, establishing an advice and social centre for unwaged people, and working with residents of a local hostel on issues including homelessness, abuse, difficulties with relationships, and drug and alcohol problems.

I’ve run a number of groups exploring the life-experiences and concerns of young people through improvisation and drama games, and as co-ordinator of a residential arts project for young disabled people, I’ve supported residents in their arts practice and independent living.

I’ve organised major events such as Writing and Poetry Festivals, and I’ve supported writing activities including one-to-one surgeries with people whose expression is rooted in personal and often painful issues, and experiences such as loss, domestic violence, estrangement, sexual abuse, bereavement, retirement, aging, and identity and relationship issues.

I’ve worked as a volunteer counsellor at Newport MIND and at dBs Bristol Music College.
